Loki and Frigga by Pulvis Loki and Frigga by Pulvis
For Loki's Redemption project :iconlokisredemption:. Wow, I'm all about Loki these days. Thank God for commissions that keep my work somehow varied :XD:
Inspiration: Gustav Klimt, Disney Rescuers OST "Tomorrow is another day" and my trip to Paris
Refs: only for faces
Symbolism: wow, I actually made some research about flower symbolism and decided to use them in my work. So, purple hyacinths are used to ask for forgiveness and white tulips on the background are the symbol of forgiveness itself. Also, out of all possible variants I chose Frigga to be the second character. She's positioned in a way to support Loki and also she's helping him take off his armor (i guess i took that from Knocking on heaven's door - "mama, put my guns in the ground") providing solace and a sense of tranquility that Loki needs (that is not to say desperately yearns for :XD:)

There is so much texture to enjoy on every spot of the piece! I absolutely adore your use of symbolism as well as the gorgeous minimalist color palette that settles the image :o) Just lovely!
